Introducing the Full Body, Torso & Breast Phantoms for X-Ray, CT, MRI, and Ultrasound by Erler Zimmer.
This range of anthropomorphic phantoms is designed to provide realistic, life-size models for medical imaging training, research, device testing, and procedural simulation. Available in both adult and paediatric versions, these phantoms cover various imaging modalities including X-Ray, CT, MRI, and Ultrasound. They replicate key anatomical structures with high accuracy and are widely used in medical schools, teaching hospitals, and imaging labs.
Adult Full Body Phantoms
(With or Without Muscles)
Compatible With: X-Ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound (US)
These adult male full-body phantoms are based on a 172 cm (5'8") tall, 70 kg (154 lb) human model. Available with or without muscle structures, they provide a highly detailed skeletal system, soft tissue mimicking material, and realistic joint movement.
MRI-compatible models simulate accurate T2 relaxation times, with reasonable results for proton-density and T1-weighted sequences (T1 ≈ 100 ms).
Applications:
- Radiology positioning training
- Diagnostic imaging technique practice
- Device testing and calibration
- Evaluation of scanning conditions
- Simulation of pathologies (customizable)
Key Features:
- Modular: 10 detachable body parts (head, torso, limbs)
- Movable joints: 360° rotatable shoulders, flexible hips, knees, elbows
- Muscle options for arms and legs (with muscle variant)
- Transparent or skin-toned finish available
- Customizable with pathologies: tumours, lesions, infections, etc.
Anatomy Overview:
- Head: Skull, brain, grey/white matter, air cavities, frontal sinus
- Torso: Spine, ribcage, clavicles, pelvis, heart, lungs, diaphragm, liver, kidneys, spleen, pancreas, GI tract, bladder, prostate
- Arms & Legs: Bones and major muscles (muscle variant only)
Paediatric Full Body Phantom (4-Year-Old)
Compatible With: X-Ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound
This life-size phantom is modelled after a 4-year-old child (102 cm tall, 20 kg) and offers detailed anatomical fidelity for paediatric imaging training. MRI-compatible models feature realistic T2 tissue response, suitable for teaching and research.
Applications:
- Paediatric patient positioning
- Ultrasound and CT scanning practice
- Training in child anatomy and pathology
- Custom pathology simulation
Key Features:
- Full-body with 10 detachable parts
- Movable joints: shoulders, elbows, hips, knees
- Transparent or skin-coloured options
- Customizable pathologies upon request
Anatomy Overview:
Includes the same major systems and organs as the adult phantom, scaled for paediatric size.
Adult Breast Phantoms
Compatible With: X-Ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound
Designed based on average adult female breast anatomy, these breast phantoms offer precise imaging capability for various diagnostic procedures including mammography, MRI, and sonography.
MRI-compatible models include T2-accurate tissue values, supporting high-fidelity T2-weighted and proton-density imaging.
Key Features:
- Life-size anatomical accuracy
- Includes partial ribcage, one lung, axillary lymph nodes
- Tissue-mimicking fat, muscle, glandular structures
- Embedded spherical tumours for diagnostic simulation
- Custom pathologies available
Adult Torso & Thorax Phantoms
Compatible With: X-Ray, CT, Ultrasound
Ideal for partial-body imaging and training, these torso-based phantoms are available as full torso or thorax-only models. They contain lifelike internal organs and a detailed skeletal structure, including a spine with a three-layered porous bone structure.
Key Features:
- Realistic organs and vascular structures
- Adjustable spine, ribcage, clavicles, pelvis
- Includes all abdominal and thoracic organs
- Optional pathology insertion (e.g., lung infections, lesions)
- Customizable size and shape upon request
- Customization Options (All Models):
- Internal pathologies: tumours, lesions, abscesses, infections
- Different tissue densities
- Modified organ configurations
- Skin colour or translucent finish
- Pathology based on real CT data
